A National-Level Technology Convention by the Royal College Computer Society
AXIS ’25 is a dynamic, school-initiated technology convention organized by the Royal College Computer Society. Designed to bring cutting-edge technological concepts and innovations to Sri Lanka, the project unites students, educators, and professionals across multiple tech disciplines including cybersecurity, robotics, networking, and software development.
The initiative aims to promote accelerated technological growth and innovation at the school level while providing students with a platform to showcase creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The event is themed ‘RetroTech’, celebrating the evolution of technology while highlighting next-generation applications and ideas.
AXIS ’25 hosts competitive hackathons where students tackle real-world problems using creative technology solutions. Participants are mentored throughout the process, allowing them to build practical applications and prototypes.
Students design, build, and present robotic systems and automation projects, demonstrating their understanding of hardware-software integration, coding, and engineering concepts.
Sessions conducted by experts provide insight into networking fundamentals, cybersecurity best practices, and the latest industry developments, empowering students with knowledge beyond the classroom.
Competitions such as Capture the Flag (CTF) events, coding contests, and design challenges encourage students to test their skills against peers while fostering collaboration and innovation.
AXIS ’25 provides live demonstration spaces for student projects, enabling attendees to interact with technologies and prototypes developed by their peers, promoting engagement and knowledge-sharing.
AXIS ’25 successfully created a national platform for technological innovation, enabling students to showcase projects, compete, and learn from industry-standard processes. By combining workshops, competitions, and live demonstrations, the event reinforced RCCS’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and collaborative problem-solving among young learners in Sri Lanka.
