With the rapid growth in the technology field, there is a need for product designers and software developers. As one of the leading technology clubs in Sri Lanka, it is our duty to bridge that gap. We hope that with the conclusion of this project, all students at the College will have a renewed interest in the field of IoT and that this project will help provide a better suitable learning environment for the students.
The recently established IoT lab of the College hadn't been in use for over a year due to the pandemic at the time of its opening and the economic crisis that followed. The Computer Society renovated the IoT lab and did the necessary cleaning with the aid of SLIIT and the RCU ICT Advisory Committee. We provided assistance to our administration as well as SLIIT to have an opening ceremony where the newly cleaned and renovated lab can be used by the students.
The RCU ICT Advisory Committee has agreed to host an IoT introductory workshop with the use of the Raspberry-pi computers that have been previously provided to us by the ministry. We hope to conduct this Workshop on several days and to encourage our fellow Royalists to pursue their interests in the fields of Robotics and IoT.
Further, we plan to aid the RCU ICT Advisory committee in renovating several of the computers currently in Lab 1.
We were able to help renovate and clean the IoT Lab of our College so that it can be used by students to learn new things and reach new heights. Students were able to have an ideal environment to learn IoT.
